Oh this book is enriched with flavours of bangaliana lifestyle !
The city of joy that is my own city Kolkata is described here in such witty ways it is a pleasure to read these pages.
Funny , bold and full of facts about kolkata from Magificient British Raj architecture , Yellow taxis , tram lines , old college streets heaped with books which is heaven for booklovers , Main kolkata market where people say if you need tiger's milk you can find it here (means nothing is impoosible fo find in kolkata ) , bengali food , good hearted welcoming people , football fanatic , famous writers and literatures by authors like Sukumar ray, Rabindra nath Tagore , books like pother pachali , the Coffee house where you still can find people lost in thoughts smokes coming out of their cigar and writing a book in this ever so busy running world to the inner not so much known chaotic life of this cultural hub like the hullaballo of the fish market , the hawkers reigning the footpaths , people ready to always enjoy political bigotry , clumsy old lanes , traffic and stuff.
uthor Mr. Kushanava Choudhury 's narration is like a river that touches most corners of this cultural hub creating a map .
I liked the small words and phases written in bengali which a bengali will absolutely devour but I am not sure if a non bengali would enjoy that or not. These phases add so much depth and fun to the read . As a bengali I liked them needless to write .
Priced at 399/- published and sent across by team of @bloomsbury for sharing my honest thoughts I feel it is a nice book according to my taste.
