Hassle-free Self Publishing with Notion Press

I have been working with the book industry for almost two years now. Many a times I get asked by budding poets and aspiring authors which publishers to go for when they are looking to get their first ever book published. Now getting published is not an easy task. The epic journey starting from writing your first page till you receive your profits from the very first sale can be a very tedious journey. In between your manuscript needs to get approved, graphic designer need to be appointed, editing will be required and distribution channels have to be sorted out. The financial front can be arduous too when one has to cash out anywhere from 20k to 2 Lakh accordingly. All these may delay having one’s dream come true and thus demotivate an aspiring author. Notion Press publishing platform has got us covered here. Notion Press is India's largest publishing platform and the platform is completely free to be used by all writers across the globe.   It is very easy t

We Beat the Gods By Saad Quadri

We Beat the Gods  By Saad Quadri  I really like the cover.  The story starts with a mystery and a feel of melancholy.  'He' is waiting. Waiting on the top of poori mountains near an estuary. The narrative is in first person. First few pages, has a philosophical touch to it. I like how the river and the sky are described her in almost a poetic way.  Why is he here amidst the misty woods? He is waiting for someone. But time was passing by and he starts to relate the present with what happened in the past. Slowly as the story glides to the next chapters 'her' story starts. She is there waching him from far away. Her daughter knows she is supposed be going to meet an old friend. They are not in their usual age when people set up romantic meetings. Who are they? What links them? What happened in their past? Will fate repeat or they will beat the gods? All questions start to line up.  This story touches upon few norms followed by our conven

My Friend is a Sociopath by Saheb Sardar

My Friend is a Sociopath By Saheb Sardar _______________ Recently I got to read this book which is a collection of two murder mystery stories.  These are intriguing short tales and they revolve around two characters:  Abhi Sarkar and his best friend. They plan for adventures which conclude to errie situations of solving some unusual crime mysteries.  If you are in stories that start with an interesting way of entrance into the plot and later conclude into somewhat open of an open ending which lets your mind find out your own version of what might have happened actually, this book will be an  entertaining read.  I picked this book for it has the term sociopath in it. Most riveting thrillers consist of characters who are either psychopaths or sociopaths or have disorderly minds.  So yes the title is catchy.  Coming to these stories, they are interestingly plotted. A bit of editing on the grammer part can give this book another push towards its success.

Firflires at 3A.M Shoetry by Danni Thomas

Firflires at 3A.M  Shoetry by Danni Thomas Oh, Only my heart knows, how much I miss the sight of fireflies. I miss those days for sure when the aur was clean, the weather used to be soothing and fireflies would make the full moon nights magical !  No doubt this book made me nostalgic. What is Shoetry? That term is new to me and I know it's same to you.  Danni Thomas coined it for his unique writing style which is a blend of short stories and poetry. So here comes Shoetry! This book is a full of musings. Every single shoetry is different. They are incongruous with the rest and yet they all come together beautifully like an exquisite bouquet of wildflowers.  The style  is free flow and allegorical but kept simple for all to comprehend. I believe you can read them any time but if you are one of those night owls these shoetries at the witch hours will definitely make your imagination glow like fireflies.  These touch mysriads of different hues of emo

Extra Ordinary by Sailee Tiwari

This beautiful book that you see laying across my bed which is of course a bit messy at this moment with books all over the blankets, is a book full of short tales.  This collection of beautiful short stories were thoroughly enjoyed by me.  Being a short story enthusiast, I find short stories quite entertaining  as only with in few pages they paint another world infront of you.  Brief stories are again great for busy people who donot get a lot of time but would like to indulge into some fictional amusement.  Coming back to these 12 stories in this book, they are sprinkled with myriads of emotions. The language is simple but neither too ornate nor too bland.  Each one is pivoted around some very relatable characters living mundane lives but walking life paths full of extraordinary situations. And that is how the author sends deeper life lessons through them.  I loved reading The Innocent thief and the story of the evergreen palm tree amoun

1000 KMs to Leadership by Mohit Chobey

1000 KMs to Leadership by Mohit Chobey is a compelling account of the author's life. The pages paint the story of his life by presenting to us insights of his journey towards his self discovery.  He is an energetic person who started experimenting with his career starting from corporate life. While others thought his interest in running was limited at being a passionate activity but it was far more than that. He describes it as meditation in motion. Why is it so? What urged him to start it and how did he found through it a meaningful life's purpose here this book captures his account on it.  As I started reading it, the gripping quality in the narration held my attention while the chpaters enriched my knowledge about different places in the world and many other aspects of it.  I liked reading about the ultimate human race where the big 5 abodes lay. I don't want to describe the blurb here which you can easily check on Amazon store. Throug

The Last Lumenian by S.G. Blaise is a science fiction book. As a riveting story this is filled with adventure, romance, drama, suspense and even action. Lilla is the wonderful female protagonist.  She is the princess who doesnot need anyone to save her but she is on a mission to save others.  Her personality is so heart warming and beautiful. Karan Puri's book #MeToo

Karan Puri's book #MeToo is a deep account of the resilience power of those who have gone through traumatic sexual abuse. ______________________ Disclaimer and Trigger Alert:  This article is about my own reading experience being an independent reader. This book is an account by the author which speak about how heart wrenching the real ordeals were but as few scenes are raw and brutal so few may act as triggers for some.  _______________________ This is a collection of 6 short stories. Sexual harassment has been going on for hundreds of years. Women are seen as the vulnerable gender and when they go through such ordeals they society silences them.  But with #metoo movements thousands spoke up. These stories that touch different points in this spectrum effectively burst another bubble of myth. They paint the fact that the word 'Me' in #metoo is not limited to  one gender but it is for an individual who may be from any gender possible, age or economic
