Afsaane - A Collection of Short Stories

Afsaane is a collection of short stories. There are a total of eleven tales, each revolving around the depth of human relations and the complexity of human affairs.

Each tale is anywhere between 4 and 20 pages long. The cover is unique and beautiful. Actually, it is related to the very first story in a sense, which speaks about a couple's life when memories are the only things left for them to cherish! It is hard for them to get separated even though sometimes, few situations lead to inevitable consequences.

But love remains even after that. It lingers in the depth of our hearts. I liked this story! The tea-stall under our apartment was playing a mashup of olden songs, while I was reading this story, and so... yeah, the last line of this story did touch me deeply. It in a quiet, subtle way, it conveyed a lot within a few words.

There are more stories like that... which talk about our struggles with the world and with ourselves, given the hidden dark faces of our society. We portray ourselves strong, but how fragile our hearts are?

The melancholic vibes wrapped up in the pages that tell the story of the dying hope of one's passion, succumbed under life's unending pressures, but waiting to find the ray of light; the wonderful feeling in finding long-lost things wrapped in these narratives were good to get connected with, and feel the nostalgic vibes!

The storytelling has good depth and seriousness. It is smooth and witty. The pages hold hidden meanings in many sentences. Poignant and yet, it has a light, smooth way of narration, making the stories feel relatable.

Definitely recommend.
