The Baby Burped on My Battleddress : by Mr. Sanjay Tewari is an amusing account of the lighter side of life of an Navy commodore . The narrative style is very witty and kept light . With detail intensive paragraphs , the backdrop , characters involved and the incidents could be easily visualised. Imagination and a smooth flow and unfolding the funny moment at a correct time are the keys to a good humourous plot and this book did touch all of them.
These are real incidents so they felt more interesting. I specially liked the chapter named Shopping at the Canteen where different members of fauji families who come as buyers to army canteen were discussed in a jocular way describing the peculiar behaviours of each.
From joining the training institute , adapting the tenacious new timetable and ways , transferring to new locations , getting married , families reaction to new places , army kids traits and adjusting with the new changes , his work as a serviceman to different funny twists and turns in the course of being an army are added in 21 such short stories comprising events of the lighter side of fauji life.
Few stories come with comical illustrations too that adds depth . And I also liked the chapter named 'The Tiger that are grass " . Her strong yet a witty personality felt great with the caretaker's local dialect and his unique funny way of trying to find solutions.
Language is lucid yet has usage of good vocabs so if you are not much into reading English language based books you may sometimes find few places and words difficult.
Amusing , enjoyable and insightful to read some catchy , interesting incident of the life of an author who himself served the our country as a navy commodore.
My salute to his great service for safeguarding our life and also again presenting us readers with a book which makes us get a smile and some giggle.
The author has dedicated him to make people happy through service and his book.
