Book Review of 'Maya : Lifting the Veil ( Amar B. Singh ) '

Book :  Maya : Lifting the Veil
Book length : 77 pages
Version : Kindle
Author : Amar B.Singh

This book is fully written in poetic verses . One of the most creatively written works I have read lately . Basically it's the conversation between Arjun , He is young and poor , father of a small kid .Arjun  represents the confused Prince Arjun of Mahabharata ( while in his battlefield ) and lord Krishna ,the almighty during the time of this Corona Pandemic when thousands are loosing their lives .

This is the blurb :

Arjun and his small family comprising his wife and children are covering a hundred of miles to reach their home during this quarantine when they meet an unfortunate fate . Arjun breaks down completely , questions god about his pain and prays to provide him with answers and show direction to his lost self. His plethora of questions about pain , pleasure and the very purpose of their dreadful life when he has lost his loved one, shoot up one by one .

As Krishna explains to him the cycle of life, what's unknown , known ,rule of this universal game , Lord also touches upon the age-old tales of Prahallad ,Kings ,Queens and demons and their destiny.I liked the story of Narad Muni the most. This cycle of life is like a dream. But the ultimate truth is the only reality and out of our comprehension sometimes.

Thoughtfully spiritual with its philosophical and mythological base , this long poem let me introspect. It has a purpose and definitely will need your concentration. It also represents the suffering ,the migrant works are going through right now and the dark face of the mocking and hypo-critic fourth estate as well.

Such topics give us a third-person perspective of the reality , for reality is perceived by everyone differently. Be you a theist , atheist ,agnostic or a pantheist like me, I think you will find this book thought-provoking.
