Rhythm of Remebrance ( By Samir Satam ) : Book Review

Rhythm of remembrance is an anthology of plethora of poems where the poems focus on the afterglow of moments spent with others and one's own self.

They touch nuances of emotions ranging from the first touch of love to the pain after separation.

They are melancholic , poignant but mostly has this vibe of nostalgia. Old clothes , cornors of the roads travelled , food , scents and everything sometimes teleports us to a moment or phase in life that we hold close to our hearts. Memories will be there you wish to remember it or not .

Colorful pictures are added against most poems that are taken by the author at various places. They are very beautiful and what can describe memories better than visual arts like photographs .

Allegorically written they have the style of poetry that lets us think a bit more than the simple surface to interpret their metaphorical hidden tales. They are mostly in prose style .

Memories of a good soul , memories of moments with them , beautiful , butter sweet and sometimes they heal and sometimes they devastate us.  Unrequited love , grief of loss , painful separation  , longing for someone , the feel of longing in itself , the struggle of letting go , to again start hope , build broken pieces up , trust and altogether introspection , these are the hues these poems carry . Memories are all what we truly can call ours.

Just like Camphor of Night , I will recommend this book to poetry lovers who like somewhat melancholic poems.

With all these being said as review of this book , I would also add that sometimes few memories are painful but they are  heal us  too . They form a part of our learnings . Sometimes few memories are best gifts , one leaves with someone and we can keep the remembrance of them in our precious hearts as best gift from us to them.
