Book Review : Unbecoming by Angela Radhakrishnan

Unbecoming is a five hundred pages long book written by the author Angela Radhakrishnan where basically he has talked about his life experiences and thoughts about different things in his life. Observing the world deeply he puts forward different questions. Straight from his birth his high awareness  about transition of soul, feeling misfit and later understanding his purpose.

The narration is truly gripping as it very open, honest and thought-provoking that has power to lead someone to self introspection .

He has talked briefly about his parents, their relationship with each other and him. He has expressed his delicate feelings, watching how society is hypocritic about gender , sexuality , ones's own gender identity ,  love and the main purpose of life. Not being able to feel connected with many he talks about  many facets of life briefly.
He talked about the ongoing social set up which is so rigid that it's non changing notions and rules many a times put people into boxes based on gender , sexuality and hinder the effective growth of mind and soul. Through many such real life situations he talks about his learnings and expresses his deep thoughts that may truly touch readers hearts who like to dive deeper.

It has elements of rebirth, spirituality , philosophy , soul transition , etc . His writing about empathy, importance of love and cultivating universal to all irrespective of caste, creed, living / non-living is heart-warming and great message for today's world. Also places where he tells that he understood reducing attachment from this temporary world has a meaning that ultimately provided him bliss are the things I liked reading about. These places let me introspect.

As it is a writing based one's own  perspective towards himself and the world, different readers will feel differently reading it as every individual's perspectives are different .All  such books that are collection of one's experience have some deep messages to offer . We may choose them according and apply in our lives for our soul's growth.

You definitely can choose to read it , you won't regret it :) that's what I can say .
