This book revolves around the concept of Ikigai and takes us towards its learnings through a fictional plot. Me ki gai : Simply Me ( i ) ki Gai .

I love it's eye catching cover ! The font is big and beautiful inside. Narration by the author Atul Khekade is smooth and lucid.

This is the story of a normal guy just like you and me in his youthful days working hard , trying to provide best for his family and managing his turmoils in his personal life . While his family is supportive but still his desires to provide them with life's luxuries day by day loosing his connection with himself creeps up a lot of unpleasant in him. He feels no zeal in his mundane and yet a very stressful job . Alongside that he faces a painful rejection in his personal front. All these pushes him to a point when he tries to take an impulsive wrong decision to shut his life down . But life has its own ways. He meets Prabhudas and Krisha and his life takes a U-Turn .  The teachings are beautiful. He embarks on a journey that slowly unfolds a new perspective for him where he develops another level.of consciousness .

It is a smooth story that in its fictional ways will let you understand the basic concepts of Ikigai. You can feel relatable to Parth and his situations in life. But how and where will he tread on from this supposed dead end in his mind ? Ikigai is to find out your basic purpose in life. Its actual meaning is Value of being alive . The purpose that not only keeps our soul fulfilled but let's our actions through our profession benefit the world for the greater good of the humanity. It is an overlapped sphere where your purpose , passion and your profession bring a common point where your life brings worth.

If you are not into non-fictions but want to understand ikigai , I think this philosophically enriched  fiction will be liked by you.
