Book - Oasis In the Desert and Other Stories
Author - Arushi Vats
Book length - 68
This is a collection of total nine short stories. These fictional tales are four to five pages long with a decorative title. The content in them are actually very simple but heart warming that based on different phases of our lives .
They revolve around nuances of emotions that are sprinkled in relatable day to day life situations. Few are very simple and I was looking for more in them and some were intricately woven and I connected with them . They touched the hues of longing , different shades of love ramging from romantic to parental , faith , letting go of the past , melancholic vibes , death to finding hope to again restart your life.
Coming to the story of Dadu , I actually loved it. It shows the intricacy of children's emotions for their grandparents. It was also heart breaking.
I liked the title story . Somewhere though it talked about what Nilakshi asked for , Aryan provided but I also found the allegorical meaning of oasis in it.
Next I found the story 'Reborn' nice. The connection shown between the plant and her and the flower with the expected one was heart warming.
