Maroon in a sky of blue by Mr. Girish Dutt Shukla

Maroon in a sky of blue by Mr. Girish Dutt Shukla is a contemporary fiction that is written in first-person narrative about a protagonist named Onir who is in his youth and can be recognized as quite a relatable character .

He is quite, soft-hearted and yes definitely an introvert. In school many a time he goes through unpleasant situations, bullies but luckily he has got two close friends —  Lavin and Palchinn.

I really liked Lavin's character, he is his old buddy where as Palchinn has become his sweetheart. But through a sudden twist in life , a beautiful evening concludes to a lifetime's scar. In a drop of a hat ,  the reality becomes unacceptable and Onir enters into a trance. What happened which pushed Onir into this web of enigma ? While he is going through counselling sessions he meets another person in a secluded place like a factory and feels connected in a very surprising way.

But what actually life holds for him ? Authors writing truly engages a reader's heart. This book is on the lengthier side but I believe to understand the depth of the purity of the emotions that bloom in such conditions when a person goes through a very hard time which is like tunnel from being wounded when the world goes upside down, feeling blank to slowly accepting and moving forward.

Coping a trauma is very hard specially when mind cannot distinguish what's reality and what is hallucination. When society is more harsh to you.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is one such thing. The climax was shocking and the vibes remain even after the book has ended.  This book is a good one that focuses on psychology and mental health awareness.
