Oh Shit! I am Hitched by Sahil Rajput

'Oh Shit! I am Hitched' by Sahil Rajput is yet another entertaining read published by Fingerprint publishers.

It is romance fiction that is also the second novel by the author.
Here you will find young love, drama, college life, friendship, hardships in engineering college placements and yes family issues including inter-caste relationships and marriage.
It is a light read that I consider young readers liking contemporary set up will find it worth few giggles as well.
Two contrasting characters weave this story.

Chirag belongs from Rajput caste. Pallavi is a punjaban. They are classmates and almost unknown to each other’s existence until Pallavi complaints to their teacher in an exam and brings some crazy funny drama into their lives. He is a happy go lucky, funny, light friendly type whereas Pallavi is intelligent, a bookworm and quite serious in studies. Romance starts to build slowly. When things were smooth, Pallavi steps back as  society starts to intervene. Casual Chirag decides to take the charge and does an extraordinary thing which not only makes him country wide famous but changes their fate.

There are occasional mentions of intoxication in the story that I do not encourage in youth but I understand it shows their characters in the story. Here and there, few Hindi dialogues are added giving the storytelling a filmy flavor.

Though it is a simple contemporary YA love story, having an engineering background myself reading about exams, getting accustomed to a new place, classroom time table, new friendships, deadline in projects, contests, placement drama, Facebook chats, etc, at few places felt nostalgic. More over the way the plot almost got that twist in the end with the mention of Roll no. 77 made it an overall entertaining read.
