Don't Leave Me Damaged
By author Dante Vereen
This is a story of hope and resilience. It imparts the message of never giving up through the most difficult of times.
It is never easy to loose a parent let alone loose both when you are still in the phase of growing up.
Sean is a young adult of twenty when he looses both of his parents, one in the dreadful war and another to cancer after being in the hospital for so long.
Life becomes very arduous thereby for him. He is a growing adult, not ever established and settled and at this tender age big responsibility of life alongside emotional pain pushes him down.
He is now left with all the family responsibilities and taking care of his two siblings.
He tries everything to support them but all hell went loose when he went bankrupt not being able to pay for the apartment atlast. During this time he lets his aunt Nicole take care of his siblings. While he searches for the light to survive inside the endless rubble of survival struggle, what does he learn about life while being in contact with sex workers, drug peddlers to thieves?
Will he be able to climb up the life's stairs or drown away in the sea of damaged millions?
The narration makes all the difference. Beautifully told in gripping yet lucid language.
Truly I felt connected with Sean and the events. The story has power to encaptivate you. I wish to soon know more what happens next. Awaiting any sequel to this.
