The Brocken Egg of Legacy by Tushar Parashar

Lately I finished reading this book of 450 pages.
The Brocken Egg of Legacy authored by Mr. Tushar Parashar is an young adult contemporary fiction.

The story starts with students of an engineering college being questionned by seniors in the automobile stream.

Here we get to know from what background each of the characters in the story come from. It made me feel nostalgic about my engineering grad days.

There is young handsome lad - Rajveer whose father is an ACP. Om is from Bheel tribes of MP. Honey is an intelligent girl who knows everything about vehicles. Aashu is a shy boy. Lastly here is our protagonist Raghav. Nobody knows he is from the family of legacies. So there are all contrasting characters. Raghav only wants to make real friends here and pass out like normal students and not let his family's name influence that in anyway. His great grandfather was a freedom fighter. His Brother and maternal uncle were in political high positions and the jurisdiction of the college and police station came under them. His legacy always kept him in fear that he will never get true friends. We get a smell of political turmoil already from here. In the subsequent chapters I enjoyed reading about the courtship between Raghav and a girl. But there's a twist. Later Raghava forst political work that is college elections get introduced and here we see his righteousness and intelligence. One line that truly made a mark was when his opponent Rahman says we both have got politics in our blood. But Raghav replies along with politics,  I have law. I do it lawfully.
Once  I  got to know enough about each characters personalities here the story takes a nice turn.Author takes us to Om's tribal community.  Two lines that I found deep were:
*An aware lady can change the future of the next generation.*

*I am just a student. And my work will determine my caste , and thus my position in the society.*

I got some nice insights into their cultural affairs and lifestyle.
They have modern technology, people are intelligent, getting good education to help their community  but they are still not comfortable with the outer world. Some improvement is needed in the woman empowerment sector as incorrect medication and ignorance has killed many in the area. When Raghav comes to know he will do something to bring change and make the leader understand ' their usual practices are not solutions to
eliminate the source of the problem.' by making his LLB lessons handy.
This story tells the young lads of our country that if one follows their duties towards the society they are serving the nation.

I liked the relationship of Om and Chitravati too. But not everything goes well between Raghav and Aarushi. They feel the pain of separation too later. Its not a usual lovey dovey romance story. Someone else is also chasing him for love and it's not Aarushi. Who is it? In this turmoil how will he realise what truly his heart needs ?
Atlast Raghav joins one such profession where he proves he has the same his blood and spirit of serving his nation in his veins that his ancestors left as legacy and his next generations.
I liked reading this book. It's a bit thick. But young readers will enjoy it. The language is pretty lucid. I wished to know more about tribals. Herethe story works nice as an  introduction to that. Some part of the proceedings will be used for woman empowerment in tribal sections as I got to know directly from the author's side. I truly appreciate such works. So guys do check this book out. It's a story that you will find entertaining as well as it's made for a good cause. On Amazon it is available.
