A Price to Love by Smita Das Jain

A Price to Love is written by (Instagram @smitadjain)  taking inspirations from her real life experiences through different situations. That is what I liked while reading the book. It felt relatable. Often times we come across such cases in our reality.

As she is a passout from IIM Indore and has worked in corporate world for 14 years; she has used her knowledge of these fields in moulding this story. So we do get a glimpse of the corporate world and it's happenings as the story proceeds.

It is a drama family fiction where love and it's intricacies have been highlighted.

" Emotions matter more than logic when it comes to personal relationships."

It starts with crumbling relationship of Sonia, a 27 year old career inclined lady, with her husband who expects her to spare some more time for their 4 year old marriage.

While their love felt perfect once, now it has started loosing its strength.

Slowly we get to know the different characters involved. After Sameep and Sonia we get to know about two more characters who add a lot of depth to the story with their issues - Rishabh and Mehul.

Rishabh, the manager of Sonia, not only is aware of her amazing professional skills but somewhere in the corner of his heart, Sonia resides even when his own marriage is on the stack.

Smita Das Jain has described each character's personality nicely so we get the opportunity to relate to them. We will find such people often in our personal as well as professional lives.

This story also highlights the different facets and stages of love. During courtship period, couples focus more on love but after marriage, life happens. Hard realty hits. Relationships require us to work upon them where we also need to figure out work-personal life balance.

Why is Sonia so workaholic? Is it due to her difficult past? Is it really love between Sonia and Sameep? Will Sameep stay or leave? What happens to Mehul and Rishabh finally?

As the story unfolds slowly we witness different twists and turns.

The story becomes a bit slow paced at few times but concludes into a meaningful read.

Do pick this book up from Amazon! It's a good read.
