Have you heard about the stamp paoer scam of 2003?

Abdul Karim Telgi was a convicted Indian counterfeiter. He earned money by printing counterfeit stamp paper in India for which he was jailed for 13 years.

Abdul Karim Telgi had a humble middle class beginning. I got to know about his personal family background and how he first struggled to start his professional life. He started as a  fruitseller in Karnataka, Khanapur.
Later he joined as a sales executive with M/s Filix India.

I was amazed to know how he with the help of few more people, meticulously conducted everything and started his "business" of selling counterfeit stamps and stamp papers leading to multi-crore fake stamp paper case which was disclosed in 2004. Not only this but that which started a bonfire in the society is the fact of involvement of government officials in this case.

When the CBI took over the cases in 2004, Abdul Rahim Telgi died before charges could be filed in the Bangalore City Market case.
After diving deeper, I was amazed that how was it possible for a person of reasonable intelligence, yet one who had failed as a self-starter in his short stint in employment, to have such devious business acumen to reach dizzying heights of power and pelf?

Perhaps, these are questions whose answers will never be found, despite the constant clamouring from many quarters to revisit the scam. There are too many big names involved and this book provides us an insightful glimpse into those facts and events.

Its an research intensive book. Very informative and insightful.

A detailed chronicle of his audacious journey into the world of grime and crime, from womb to grave.
