I have read two books by author Amar B. Singh. Why I find his books really special is because he always comes up with themes that let us contemplate and introspect and become a better person.
Moreover, they always come in the poetry format which is absolutely unique.

This absolutely adds an X-factor to the overall experience.

When I came to know his latest book was finally out, I knew I had to get it in my hands.

So finally I read it and here I am sharing my thoughts after reading it.

2042 is an attempt by the author to express his thoughts about different aspects of our lives by analyzing different possibilities in our future where greed exist.
It spans over a wide range of topics. From relationships, love and longing, mental and physical wellbeing to government, economics, finance and many more diverse themes. There are 20 such poems spanning over 90 sonething pages.

The very first poem was the title poem that expressed how it could be in the future, that is 2042. Metaverses will be there, the planet may come out to be greener, drones will deliver goods, but will it be a better place than our childhood days when life was simpler? The poem lets you introspect about many possibilities of what mental wellbeing will look like then.

The second one lets us enter a situation where the kid is immersed into virtual world where money is everything and forgetting the beauty of childhood. Will technology be a blessing or a boon at such stage?
The subsequent ones ask us what being social means? What will the word society hold for us? What will really matter: living longer for centuries, cluelessly or dying young.

Then a revolution may take place. What will it be about?

Will a new earth take birth out of it? How will it be in 2043?

I found the book absolutely mind-blowing. The author has put so many thoughts and ideas of possibilities to let the reader think about.

Decorated with ornamental words, it still is lucid enough. The words end up in our bloodstreams.

I highly recommend it to people who like to think. Those who like to think about where we are heading towards as humans, what we are doing to ourselves, others and the world.

QOTD: Do you want to travel to other planets in future?
