Dancers in the Dark by author Ejaz Ahmed

Dancers in the Dark by author Ejaz Ahmed is an truly an exquisite literary journey that delves into the depths of societal prejudice and self-acceptance.

No I am not exaggerating!

Although I'm not revealing much about the story, the themes it addresses are significant. They provoked me to contemplate.
I strongly recommend this book to everyone. The author shows great promise in the literary world, and I'm excited to read more from them in the future!
The story follows seven-year-old Kalki, whose resilience in the face of discrimination due to her dark complexion is both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Truly heartbreaking as some of the finest people, I have met having dark complexion are the most beautiful ones inside out.

I being a medium complexion havenot spared me from getting demotivating comments from my near and dear ones.
Coming to the story, with her brother Karthi, they embark on a poignant quest to alter her appearance, inadvertently unmasking the harsh realities of racism and  casteism.

This story doesnot stop there, but the plot even touches upon the challenges the Queer LGBTQ+ community faces!

The narrative encapsulates a rollercoaster of emotions, from anger to ultimately, enlightenment.
Through the profound bond of the siblings and their unwavering determination, the book offers a compelling testament to the formidable force of societal expectations and the transformative power of self-love.

A tale not only captivated me  but undoubtedly left an indelible mark on my mind, reminding me of the importance of compassion, understanding, and embracing one's true self.

I definitely feel everyone to check this book out. Its easily available on Amazon India!
