The Four Horsemen- The Fate of the World by Arjun Shaji is a mind bending fantasy fiction

I like reading fantasy fictions! They are like a thrilling escape from the mundane reality! Thus I picked up this new book- The Four Horsemen which  uniquely blends biblical history with adventure, moreover it offers a fresh and exciting storyline.

Aaryan, Janaki, and Deekshith are young adults and close friends. One day, they board a train, excited for a fun trip to New Yorkshire. However, something feels off—the compartment is eerily quiet, with no other passengers in sight. As they settle in, they discover a mysterious black box hidden under a seat, as if it has been there for ages covered with dirt and spiderwebs.

Driven by curiosity, they open it, only to find a stack of strange cards inside. Each of them instinctively reaches for one, unaware of the fate that awaits them. The twist? The cards bear the names of the Four Horsemen from the Book of Revelation—figures destined to appear on the day of the apocalypse.

I didnot have much idea about the myth story of The Four Horsemen

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, from Revelation 6, ride white, red, black, and pale horses, symbolizing Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. The first horseman is sometimes linked to Jesus Christ, while the fourth represents Death. The term also describes toxic relationship behaviors: criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling.

And then a scary strange thing hapens! These 3 fade away in the air landing into a dark dangerous mysterious world.

As they navigate cursed lands, including a dark twist on Narnia, they  uncover mind-boggling truth about their roles as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I was like why? Oh my god!

Each one of them has a constrasting personality and with that their own sets of struggles come to fulfill this strange destiny.

Aaryan struggles with the burden of conquest, while Janaki faces secrets from her past. Along the way, they battle powerful enemies, decipher cryptic prophecies, trying to understand the truth and fight to prevent a catastrophe that could destroy everything.

But the questions stay unanswered- why were they chosen, what was their curse and who is the fourth horseman, in fact was was the mysterious man- Alexander? I found the storyline to be really unique and one of a kind!

Author Arjun Shaji has put great efforts in creating a gripping mysterious forgotten world filled with suspense and action alongside characters portraying deep emotions.

The story is fast-paced too with short chapters keeping it interesting with  unexpected twists. Fans of fantasy and mythology will enjoy this thrilling.  It was as if I was walking besides the characters and could imagine the scenes and events with my own eyes.

Will they ever come back to this present reality? Quite an interesting ending. Definitely it hints at the next book to answer the questions! I look forward to it.
