Earth Day 2025: "Our Power, Our Planet."

Earth Day 2025 is being celebrated today, i.e April 22, with the theme  "Our Power, Our Planet."  While we as humans are putting greater efforts at destroying our planet for short term materialistic benefits, real intelligence and understanding lies in comprehending we cannot win by failing our nature, our home, our ONLY HOME! No other planet can be as perfect for our lives and biology as our Earth as it gave us birth. We must think long term ethically and mindfully to continue surviving 🌸 Truly, Earth is our Power, Our planet!  This year's theme highlights the collective strength of communities,  individuals, and nations to protect and restore the planet through actionable, sustainable solutions. I share here few books, that inspire us to protect, love and respect  Our beautiful home, Our EARTH 🌎🌸

Euthymia Syndrome by Asmita Sen

Euthymia Syndrome is a philosophical-fictional story inspired by author Asmita Sen’s real struggle with epilepsy and a near-death experience.  Writing, for her, became a way to cope and reflect especially after years of emotional suppression, family misunderstandings, and self-image issues in a traditional Indian household. Weren’t those times fun and a little scary too but still comforting? I know ! I really miss those childhood days, when horror made us excited, even though it left us too scared to sleep later. I still love horror. Along with sci-fi, it’s my favourite genre in movies.  There’s something about the twists and the feeling that there’s a hidden world beyond what we can see and touch,it keeps pulling me in. Last year, I read Bhoota Gappa – Part 1 . ( The title means Ghost stories in Odia)  In bengali we call them Bhooter Golpo.   It was full of mystery and creepy moments that gave me goosebumpy thoughts. So when I found out that Part 2 was out, I knew I had to read it. This time, the story continues in the haunted town of Shikaar-Nagar. We follow AzaGka, her seven siblings, and their father Ashvath, who are trying to break a te...
