Beyond Genders, Into Humanity — A Heartfelt Review of Manhood Womanhood Let’s Talk Humanhood by Chirasree Bose
Recently I came across this handy sized book.
Manhood Womanhood Let’s Talk Humanhood by Chirasree Bose
Looked nice and thoughtful so I bought it and I think I did the right thing!
The title itself is deep. We are first humans and then different genders. Thus our cores are made more similarly, right?
Have you ever wished someone could just sit with you and talk honestly about life without judging or giving full on advice? That’s exactly how this book felt to me.
Reading it was like having a heart-to-heart with someone who truly sees the messy parts yet shares the hidden beauty in them. It doesn't tell you how to fix your life exactly, but subtly how you can be more humane.
The book has a very unique design, that I really liked. Each chapter touches on a different area or phase of life, covering a wide range of topics and asks deeper questions that prompt you to reflect and become more self-aware and conscious. Everything is written in verses or prose rather than regular sentence-style narration.
There are 104 short chapters on various themes of life from birth till death. The book shares thoughts around these stages, and most of them are truly relatable and thought-provoking.
For example, there's a chapter where the author shares that every being on Earth has the right to live with dignity and freedom. This includes stray animals too they should be treated with love, even if someone doesn’t feel too much affection for them. No one has the right to mistreat them, as they are just like us, a part of nature. That was the most touching part for me, as I’ve always advocated for needy animals who often face abuse at the hands of humans. The author’s honesty makes it feel like a friend is speaking directly to you.
If you're someone who enjoys reflective books that dive deep into feelings, self-awareness, and human connection, respect for nature, this one is for you. It’s especially good for teens and young adults, but honestly, anyone who has ever felt lost or lonely or even want to find deeper human connection will find something here. Themes like emotional health, identity, growth, and belonging are explored in a gentle yet powerful way. So go for it without any doubt in your mind.
