To the silent ones and silences -
In love, In labor, In life
"Dear Me,
I know this is strange - writing to myself like this. But I'm at the airport right now, and everything's loud. And I needed to hear something quieter.
So I guess this is me...
checking in.
With me."
A soliloquy follows, giving me a glimpse into the author’s mind.

So, back in February this year, I read Aditya Vittal’s first book Sin & Success, and it quickly became one of my favourite reads. It taught me fresh ways of looking at psychology in marketing, and I loved how the author made even the most intricate things feel so clear and easy. When I heard his new book was not about business but about poetry, I was curious and The Curse of a Silent Mind did not disappoint.
This book feels like holding a handful of unsent letters close to your heart. Each page carries the hush of silence but also the weight of feelings we often keep unspoken like love and heartbreak, weariness and hope, solitude and self-discovery touching every stage of childhood, to teenage and adulthood spanning from Academics, Career and even glimpses of personal life.
Each letter captures what it means to live in between people, phases, silence and sound. His words do not shout for attention, they simply flow, and in them, you may find parts of your own story.
The first few verses or letters touch upon childhood as well and similar almost forgotten memories lying in the silent valley of his thoughts.
Unlike him, to be honest in few such cases, I carry both good and unnecessary memories of my gone days, that refuse to fade even if I want them too at times. Here, I felt silence is not always a curse, but a hidden blessing too.
I really liked the letters from the section- When Love Spoke First.
The honesty glowing out of them, like whispers of the soul, truly proved the silent kinds are cursed in this world where everything now has to be spoken aloud, tagged and made a show off of.
But again at times, reading his other letters felt like viewing an unfamiliar landscape from my explored mountain tops.
Ultimately the valley of our minds where silence prevails has so many carefully kept memories I wonder and this book rings that bell in me! Its a book of soliloquy in letters or verses by an author but how nicely it creates a subtle ripple in us readers who has gone through THE CURSE OF THE SILENT MIND. For anyone who has felt too quiet for the world, this book is like a companion who understands. 🤍
