A Few Thousand Kilometres of Happiness ( by Anand Krishna Panicker )

This book is a travelogue about a journey made on giant bikes by two friends.  I liked reading this short book where the author has captured his journey through hundreds of kilometers across  different cities and rural places of South India like Chennai , Devangiri , Belagavi meeting different people in its course. From  meeting old friends to new , facing uncertainty, sleeping at risky places at night and even meeting life threatening events . For few , bike riding is a passion .  I feel it's a risky one . It needs great physical health and mental attentiveness .  After reading this book I understood not only it is an adventurous sports , but it opens a door to soul introspection where all the insecurities , fears are kept. Also, this journey showcased the value of trust , friendship , being patient , understanding one's own capabilities and handling difficult situations together and being brave. Throughout the journey, ...

The Unknown lands of Magneta Book 1 : Planet of Troy : DG Bonnie

This book is a science fiction but it has different genres blended in. It is not only an adventurous story but actually also can be put under philosophical read. So I find it fascinating story.  The blurb  is here .  I liked the characters of Amiel and doctor Watkins  . The subtle messages in the book are thoughtful because through fictious planetary worlds it delivers us thoughtful lessons and asks us to self introspect, so we can bring greater bliss to our whole world and not just only humanity .  The cover is so enigmatic . I liked the conversations between Amiel and his mom and amiel and Doctor Watkins. The sudden twists and the secrets unfolding on why Cusians took over tushans and the purpose unfolding later on.  The chapters of House of Lords that is conversations between two known god's , but I wish I could get few more reads about their  conversations as those were more fascinating.  The mai...

Isles of Mambo and other stories ( By author Alok Karkera )

I like short stories. Recently  I picked up this book  written by the author Mr.Alok Karkera . Absolutely love the vivid hues of the cover . Silhouette of a couple enjoying the sunset and far away we see the glimmering city of Mumbai where dreams shine . There are total 12 short stories in this book.  Each has its own taste.  The first one painted the story of half a dozen denizens during the time of Mumbai flood simultaneously. Can we imagine how constrasting lives of so many people are during the same period of time ? Meera's fate made me think how will world know about her great deeds.  There are more stories that are subtle yet talk more than the words used to weave them. They undoubtedly will make you think about the nuances of our lives .  The story named Resilience was plotted so well . Very thoughtful with an important message about life , but the way the ending came , I was dumbstruck . Truly life has its own way...
